Single's Inferno 4 Star Lee Si An Opens Up About Canceled Idol Debut That Almost Happened cover

Lee Si An has revealed what happened to the idol debut she was supposed to make years ago. In a new video uploaded to her YouTube channel, the reality star sat down with former fellow trainee Ki Jeong Eun and opened up about how close they came to debuting.

According to Koreaboo’s report on the video, the two met for a meal in Itaewon, where Lee Si An joked, “We were actually the visuals.” She explained that they had recorded many songs and were, in her words, “literally just about to debut.”

Ki Jeong Eun explained that the pair were supposed to debut as a group on the Waterbomb festival stage, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there were talks of pushing the debut to after the pandemic, the situation dragged on and the debut was ultimately canceled.

After the plans fell through, both left their agency and went their separate ways. “It’s a bit disappointing, right? There’s always some regret,” Lee Si An admitted. She added that they were “just really unlucky,” saying it felt like the world was unjustly putting them down.

Lee Si An previously appeared on Mnet’s Idol School and Produce 48, and she gained attention last year as a contestant on Netflix’s original variety show Single’s Inferno 4.

The full conversation is now available on Lee Si An’s YouTube channel, giving fans a rare look at the trainee chapter of her life that never made it to the stage.
